He Has Risen!

The Victory That Changed Everything…

Today, on Resurrection Day, Sunday, April 5th, 2026, Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ! I remember since being a child, a teen, young adult, and an adult having listened to a multitude of sermons about the Resurrection of Christ. I often wondered if I fully understood what Christ’s Resurrection truly meant.

Let’s be direct today, the Resurrection isn’t simply about Jesus rising, so let me provide some historical context for you. Prior to the Resurrection of Christ, death seemed to be the end. Consider, that before his death, death was thought to be the end of existence. It’s hard to conceive for those of us born after the death of Christ. Understand that before Christ’s death and resurrection, humanity didn’t have much hope. Death was the end.

Death as Silence:

For in death there is not remembrance of you; in the grave who will give you praise?” – Psalm 6:5.

No Return:

He who goes down to the grave does not come up…he shall never return to his house.” – Job 7:9-10.

The Dead Know Nothing:

For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing…they have no reward.” – Ecclesiastes 9:5.

He Does Not Rise :

Man lies down and does not rise…till the heavens are no more, they will not awake.” – Job 14:10-12.

This is significant, because before Jesus’ time on Earth, humanity saw darkness and no hope. This seemed like simply the end.

Death was believed to be final before the Resurrection of Christ.

Jesus Brings Change!

There are a few changes based on Christ’s Resurrection, which begins with the understanding that death is no longer final. The Word shares, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where , O death, is your sting?” – 1 Corinthians 15:55. Death in modern times is like a door to the next stage of existence. This was a drastic change from the past. This creates the idea that your past doesn’t define you because your failures aren’t final. Today, Easter or the Resurrection Day reminds us that what seems like the worst moment, death, isn’t the end of the story. It marks a new beginning.

The other change the Resurrection brought, which is not discussed as much, was the idea that eternal life doesn’t begin when you die. Instead, it begins the moment God brings you to life inside! This change highlights that we were alive physically, but disconnected spiritually as a form of death. Also, that self-improvement isn’t enough – there is a spiritual resurrection that happens and changes us.  Remember, Salvation isn’t a process, it occurs instantaneously, it’s transformation! “But in fact, you were dead…God raised us up with Christ.” -Ephesians 2:1,6.

This Resurrection Day, this Easter, let us be reminded that we have been re-born inside. Also that Jesus removed the sting of death. So, let peace replace anxiety, joy replace turmoil, purpose replace uncertainty, security replace insecurity! You have been re-born, so stand in faith in your change and grow daily!

Happy Resurrection Day to you all and may the Lord bless and keep you!

Remember, the Gospel is good news for all situations!

  1. Thank you for sharing this! I love the perspective that eternal life begins ‘inside’ the moment we’re changed, rather than just being something in the distant future. It’s a great reminder that our past doesn’t define us and that there’s always room for a new beginning. Have a wonderful and peaceful Resurrection Day!

    1. Happy Easter and thank you for sharing. I’ve noted many times we tend to focus on the “resurrection” of Christ as a physical reality. However, we don’t always think about the inward change the Lord brings once we accept Him and salvation. We have to continue forward in faith believing we belong to Him and we are in fact linked to Him through the Holy Spirit. That change happens immediately, however, the more we learn the stronger our faith grows…that is a process! Thank you for being part of the discussion! May you and your loved ones have an amazing Resurrection Sunday!

  2. Yes and believing we truly belong to Him makes such a difference in how we face daily life. I love the idea that our faith grows stronger as we learn more and I know that I still have a lot to learn. Thank you so much for these thoughts and for the kind wishes. I hope your day with family was filled with Peace and Joy!

What an encouraging and insightful post! I love your positive perspective on the true meaning of Christ’s resurrection. We’re reborn spiritually just as you’ve highlighted. And we should remember his sacrifice and life patterns. Galatians 2:20 “… It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” This day serves as not only a remembrance but encouragement to keep testing whether or not we have faith. Drawing closer to him should be a daily practice. Peace to you and everyone reading this.

    1. Thank you for sharing! Yes, so many continue to focus on the physical body to spiritual body resurrection of Christ and the foreshadowing of that reality to Christians. We can often times miss that there is a disconnection spiritually until Salvation, and then and instantaneous changes. The rebirth of your spiritual self. As you’ve highlighted, we should draw closer to Him as a daily practice! Keep the faith!

This is a powerful reminder that the Resurrection didn’t just happen—it changed everything. You clearly show how, before Christ, death felt final, silent, and hopeless, making His victory over the grave even more transformative. It challenges us to not take that hope for granted, because what we now celebrate was once unimaginable. Your reflection brings a deeper appreciation for the gift of eternal life and the light that replaced humanity’s darkness. Truly, the Resurrection didn’t just give life after death—it gave meaning to life before it.

    1. Thank you for sharing, and yes, the Resurrection, changed everything! We are used to living with hope of tomorrow but imagine generations that only saw death as the end. It was hard to live. Let us be overjoyed that Salvation, impacted us immediately and we are changed! Thank you for being a part of the discussion!

This is such an uplifting and hope-filled reflection on the power of the Resurrection. You did a beautiful job showing how Jesus’ victory over death doesn’t just change our future—it transforms how we live right now. The reminder that death has lost its sting brings such comfort, especially in a world where so many people carry fear and uncertainty.

The way you spoke about being re-born and stepping into peace, joy, purpose, and security is so inspiring. It’s a reminder that no matter what we’ve faced or how heavy things may feel, our story is not over. There is always room for renewal, growth, and deeper faith.

One thing that stands out is how this message encourages us to keep moving forward. Even though transformation begins instantly, each day gives us another opportunity to grow into that new life and fully embrace who we’ve been called to be.

Overall, your words are full of encouragement and truth. They remind us that because of the Resurrection, we can walk confidently in hope, knowing that real change is not only possible—it’s already begun within us. Thank you
