Our Example for Our Youth!

Let’s stand on our faith, show our morals and help our youth by our example!

God is able, but we must show our morals and our values! Now is the time as we are witnessing such perilous times! We need to show our youth our values in Christ! Let’s lead by example!!

Let’s be the force of change for the future generations!

Jesus Leads by Example!

You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” – John 13: 13-17 (NIV).

Jesus showed us by example to his disciples that we lead by example and by being a servant. We must show the younger generations by leading by example as well. We must also not be too proud to serve. Let us show the youth by our collective examples that there is hope and we are here to guide, inspire and support them!

Remember, the gospel is good news for every situation.

Amen! The youth of today really need encouragement and positive examples. Oftentimes the youth have a skewed view of the future, believing it holds no promises for them. They point to difficulty finding employment… near impossibility of pursuing the American dream; or not being able to afford a home. We can encourage them to walk by faith to see the brighter blessings ahead. Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I struggled often when I was younger to find work. I went through several careers over decades of trying to “fit”. But with hope and action blessings overflow in my life! God exalts the lowly ones…1 Corinthians 1:27. We must shine light on our past trials and triumphs which we have endured as proof of God’s promises. His word is alive, he saw us through every obstacle and continues to bless us.

    1. I certainly agree, “His word is alive”, and we have to help our youth to see that. We acknowledge that there are so many things confronting our youth today. However, one of the larger obstacles is a lack of faith and a lack of understanding that God actually wants to see them succeed. Without many positive examples of God’s love, patience, and protection our youth do not see the Lord as we do. They do not even believe that He exists or cares about them. In the practical sense, they need to “see” the Lord and one of the ways is through us! If we the elder generations do not show them by example they have difficulty seeing who the Lord is to them. So, we must be “servants” to them and embody the actions of Christ to allow them to see God’s example….in us, in the flesh and active in this Earth. I was once told by an excellent pastor to use the show and tell method. “Show them through your behavior and actions, let them ask, then tell them about Jesus.” Thank you so much for all you’ve shared!
