We are all aware based on recent events more than ever that freedom even in this country costs. The events occurring in Minnesota remind us of that.

Whether one feels these events are justified or warranted what we see are people getting hurt and even killed. We see US citizens who have now lost their lives at the hands of the government. Regardless of which side one stands on we can still feel empathy for lives lost and lives irrevocably impacted by these events.
There are a few scriptures that come to mind in light of these events:
- “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble”. -1 Peter 3:8 (NIV).
- Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2 (NIV).
Let us all be sympathetic to one another, care about the burdens of one another. Let us imagine the pain if we lost someone we love so that we can understand the pain these families are feelings.
Let us pray, Lord, may these events soon become history. Help us to choose to embrace peace and compassion for one another. Help us to choose love, kindness and show humanity to each other, in Jesus name. Amen.
